Experts say that ocean energy has the potential to power the entire world without producing greenhouse gases.

"Sea Power and Associates, a Berkeley based company, has developed technology to harness the energy of the ocean. Using concrete floats connected to a hydraulic pump, the Wave Rider technology can generate power from wave motion. Experts say that ocean energy has the potential to power the entire world without producing greenhouse gases. The process of tapping wave energy has been tested by companies outside of the U.S over the past few decades. But while Japan and Northern European countries have implemented government-funded sea-power programs, U.S. research funding has been greatly limited. Experts at Sea Power and Associates hope to secure funding for future research."
