Development threatens the many of the nation's Civil War sites.
"It's not just history that's being placed in jeopardy, officials say, tourism dollars are also at stake. Tourists bring millions of dollars annually to Civil War sites.'In Europe they preserve their old buildings and history, and in the U.S., we turn them into parking lots...'"
