Affordable Housing Laws At Risk in CA

The California Supreme Court has refused to re-hear a decision made by a lower court on affordable housing requirements, which may make such requirements throughout the state invalid.
San Francisco developer Oz Erikson says in the San Francisco Chronicle, "In the short term, there is nothing under construction, so it won't have an immediate impact, but in a normal market, it will be interesting to see if someone challenges the rules."
Los Angeles Downtown News writes that the decision "has effectively torpedoed the centerpiece of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s sweeping $5 billion plan to increase L.A.’s low-income housing stock."
