Free Electricity for the Poor

Volunteer electricians from the Soweto Electricity Crisis Committee reconnect those who can't afford to pay the bill.

The power company says it's illegal, but the volunteers say everyone in South Africa has a right to electricity, along with water, schooling, and health. (VIDEO)

From the video: "The power company estimates that over half the people in Soweto are getting their electricity free of charge."
