Unanimity Over Density in Vancouver
19 November 2009 - 6:00am
The Vancouver City Council voted unanimously to approve the creation of a new high-density, mixed-use community on land left over from Expo 86.
The plan is not without controversy however; some locals were rallying for additional park land.
From The Vancouver Sun: "The new neighbourhood, according to the staff report, would include rental and market housing — and would 'appeal to those who want to live in a busy, vibrant area and who have a tolerance for noise, crowds and activities.'"
