The Most Musical Cities in North America

17 November 2009 - 6:00am

This chart from the Martin Prosperity Institute at the University of Toronto looks at North America's musical epicenters -- cities where the most music is produced.

"Digital technology from myspace.com to a recording studio on your laptop means that music can literally be made and distributed anytime, anyplace, and anywhere. But it is also clear that a great deal of music continues to come out of particular cities and their music scenes."

Nashville, Los Vegas, and Montreal top the list. Six out of the top 15 are Canadian cities.
