Call for Nominations

The Nominations Committee will recommend two UD&P Division members to run for each position. Candidates must be current members in good standing of the American Planning Association and UD&P Division and cannot be currently holding any other elected national APA position.

Terms of Office

The Secretary/Treasurer term is two years. The Chair-Elect position includes two years as Chair-Elect, two years as Chair, and two years as Immediate Past Chair.

Chair-Elect

The two-year Chair-Elect term provides a period to 1.) familiarize the new leader with division administrative and leadership responsibilities; 2.) smooth the transition from one leader to the next; and, 3.) include the in-coming leader in planning and division’s activities.

The responsibilities of the Division Chair include calling and presiding at meetings of the Division and Executive Committee; preparing an annual program and budget; reporting annually on the activities of the Division; representing the Division on the APA Divisions Council; appointing committees, a Web Manager, and a Newsletter Editor; and fulfilling all other duties of the Division Chair as described in the APA and Divisions Council Bylaws, Division Performance Criteria, and Division Policies as adopted by the Divisions Council.

Secretary/Treasurer

The Secretary/Treasurer maintains the Division’s historical documents and achieves; prepares meeting minutes; distributes division communications; handles Division funds and maintains its financial records as required by Division Performance Criteria and Division Policies as adopted by the Divisions Council; assists in budget preparation; and assists the Chair as required.

Candidate Statements

Candidate statements of not more than 500 words must be submitted to Peter Klear no later than December 04, 2009. Unedited candidate statements will be posted on the UD&P division website.
