Professional planning position managing and providing direct support for the development of the Transit and Housing Task Force and its program. The Transit and Housing Task Force Plan is an ambitious, multidisciplinary 1-year project that will require local and regional coordination and communication.

The project manager will serve as the primary point-of- contact and source of day–to-day program direction for this collaborative development of a knowledge base to champion a regional discussion on transit and housing throughout southern Louisiana. The individual will coordinate and communicate outreach efforts and results to all parties involved including the 20 member task force, elected officials, stakeholders from other states, focus groups, and other agencies/organizations. The project manager will oversee the following: communication with multiple governmental, community and stakeholder groups; task force meeting coordination; and grant-reporting requirements.

The Project Manager will be expected to perform at minimum:
 Coordinate task force meetings to present results of stakeholder outreach and knowledge base research
 Perform various public relations activities aimed at obtaining the greatest public involvement and support
 Creates and organizes leadership groups in support of state transit and housing initiatives
 Establish contacts and facilitate communication with agencies and organizations for data collection and coordination purposes, obtain necessary data, and arrange meetings and interviews with key officials and stakeholders
 Provide research and coordination for formation of knowledge base related to transit oriented development
 Provide educational slideshow and holds regional meetings as part of outreach and knowledge accumulation and sharing

Experience managing large scale planning projects is preferred. Experience working with policy and advocacy, elected officials, public agency officials, and citizen/stakeholder groups is preferred.
