Parents Banned from Playgrounds
29 October 2009 - 8:00am
The Watford Borough Council has voted that parents cannot play with their own children in local playgrounds because they haven't had a criminal background check.
Playgrounds will be watched over by approved "play rangers" who will be the only adults allowed on the grounds.
"The Watford Borough Council policy has been attacked as insulting and a disgrace by furious relatives who say they are being labelled as potential paedophiles.
It will further fuel concerns over a growing nanny state amid the deepening row over the Government's new national anti-paedophile database."

There are limits to the amount of pollution the environment can absorb without reducing ecosystem services and impairing both human health and the sustainability of our economy.

No love birds allowed
Do you remember those movie scenes in which the teenage boy walks with his girlfriend in the evening to a playground and she sits on a swing. The boy then lovingly pushes the girl on the swing.
Can't now. Must be paedophiles casing the scene for their next victims. Send in the swat team.

Well that sounds like stupidity being raised to an art form.
If you can't take your kid to the playground and interact there, you go find another venue if you want to play with your child. But aren't playgrounds supposed to be for play and quality parent/child time?
This is a council that has lost the plot.
