7 October 2009 - 8:00am
Residents of the city of Penjaringan in North Jakarta brought a proposal to the government to convert the area underneath a toll road into a public space.
The residents participated in a community visioning process and designed ideas for the underused area.
""We want a reading area," said resident Robi Cahyadi.
Another resident, Turah, a housewife, said she wanted a space where her children could play."
