Toll Road Fiasco in Ohio
5 October 2009 - 10:00am
Last week, the Ohio Turnpike debuted its E-Z Pass toll system -- with disastrous results, says TollRoadsNews.
"Initial lane allocations were based on an estimate that first day penetration of E-ZPass transponders would be 30% of traffic.
The actual percentage Thursday, Day One, turned out to be about 10%, officials said.
E-ZPass Only lanes went unused while traffic backed up at cash lanes.
Plaza superintendents scrambled to change lane modes."

Despite its small size, San Pierre was once a thriving community. It was home to more than 34 different businesses, and was surrounded by farmland and people gainfully employed in agriculture, retail sales, banking or other service industries.
