Oak Ridges Moraine Development Banned

The Province of Ontario's Smart Growth initiative has frozen development on the Oak Ridges Moraine, an ecologically important area north of Toronto, Canada, that is experiencing development pressure.
"Environmental groups rejoiced today as government and opposition parties united to ban development on the Oak Ridges Moraine, considered by many to be the life source of southern Ontario's rivers and streams."
