Chicago Is Not Getting Older

Analysis of Census 2000 data shows who is living in Chicago and lists the oldest and youngest communities.
"The biggest surprise may be the lack of surprises, said Max Dieber, director of research services at the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission. Demographers had been expecting the state's population to be older. And anyone who has driven in the surrounding counties knew that farmland was quickly giving way to new subdivisions filled with kids."
