Kickflips in Kabul

A nonprofit program started in 2007 is teaching kids in Kabul, Afghanistan how to skateboard. This slideshow from the Los Angeles Times takes a look.
Known as Skateistan, the program provides skateboards and lessons to kids 2 hours a day, six days a week. It is also building an indoor skate park in Kabul, where park space is limited.
