BLM Sells Land Allowing Las Vegas To Grow
10 May 2001 - 9:30am
The profits from the 1,905-acre sale in North Las Vegas will be used to purchase privately owned land in Nevada.
The land sold for $47.2 million and will be used to purchase privately owned land inside of U.S. Forest Service and National Park boundaries in Nevada. The former BLM land will be developed into more than 5,000 homes, along with the stores, roads and parks to serve them. Critics see this as a win-win bet.
