Top Cities for Active People

Outside Magazine ranks the top 10 U.S. cities for people who like to exercise and be outdoors.

In addition to factors like cost of living and weather, the ranking considered access to outdoor facilities like hiking trails and bike paths.

The top three:

1. Colorado Springs, Colorado
2. Seattle, Washington
3. Atlanta, Georgia

Best Cities… not again...

Another dopey, pointless Best Cities list.

Do Charlotte or Cincinnati really have better restaurants, night life, cultural offerings, hiking trails and outdoor recreation venues than, say San Francisco…?

Yes… the cost of living and housing always drag down the ratings for places like SF, but like they say, you get what you pay for. I’m sure that cheap McMansions in Charlotte or Cincinnati are enticing, but if “better” means cheaper, then it should be so stated. Bulgaria has cheap houses… does that make it the best country…?

Magazine editors should drop the presumption they know what is best for all of us.

P.S. Personally, I like Miami Beach, but I've never seen it on anyones "best" list... don't know why.
