Most Sustainable Cities in the U.S.

Grist brings us this list of the top 15 sustainable cities in the U.S.

The ranking is based on data from the EPA, the U.S. Census Bureau and voluntary surveys of cities.

"Seattle is the most sustainable big city in the nation, according to a list compiled by Smarter Cities, an NRDC project that looks at the progress American cities are making toward going green. Not surprisingly, San Francisco and Portland are the runners-up."

But why not just require basic accessibility, such as no-step entrances and wider doorways? It seems off the mark to argue that it's inappropriate to place this kind of requirement on homebuilders.
