National Forest Rules To Be Revised

The Bush administration will revise a ban on logging and new roads in national forests initiated during the Clinton years.
"The Clinton administration began the rule-making process about three years ago. Its policy with was praised by environmentalists as a way to protect the nation's forests against development and preserve critical wildlife habitats. Opponents, including the timber and mining industries, say the rules needlessly place valuable resources off-limits."
