BOCEP offers a wide range of courses to suit most interests and budgets. Each May and June courses approved for 14 AICP CM credits.
The Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program (BOCEP) offers convenient and cost-effective ways to build skills and knowledge. We are offering several courses and webinars from April to June. All of them have been submitted for 14 AICP CM credits each.
Upcoming BOCEP courses are:
*Affordable Housing Strategies, May 27 to July 3.
* Introduction to New Urbanism, May 27 to July 3
*Environmental Planning Law, June 10 to July 11
*Long Range Planning, June 10 to July 11
BOCEP classes are designed for the busy professional who wants high-quality education. They are convenient, taught at a graduate level and interactive. There are no required meetings. You can participate from virtually any computer with an Internet connection. BOCEP learners – most of them mid- and senior-level planning professionals -- share ideas and solve problems through online discussions that are led and facilitated by seasoned practitioners.
The majority of BOCEP learners have never taken an online class before, and most say in their course evaluations that they learned a lot and got useful knowledge for their work or career. BOCEP learners come from around the United States, as well as internationally. Over 5 weeks, you could be sharing idea with a division director from New Mexico, a deputy city manager from Florida, or an urban planner from Poland.
“The online format was easy to use and accessible,” said one participant. “The geographic diversity of the class allowed for perspectives from all over the country.” Others enjoyed conversations that were “though-provoking” and “responding to the comments of the other students and the instructors.”
Each BOCEP course costs $295. Planetizen readers get scholarships of $50 if they are among the first 10 to register for the course. Please use promotion code: BGBBS when registering. BOCEP classes are approved for 14 AICP CM credits each.
BOCEP is produced by the Professional Development Institute of Rutgers University’s Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. Bloustein is one of the nation’s leading centers of learning and research in urban planning.
