Greener Than Greeny-Green Sustainable Homes Debut

"Wow, you've really never seen anything this green," says developer Bob Chartreuse. "I mean, we've really taken sustainability out of the box, and put it into a completely new box. A box that's green. Greener than green."

Celadon Estates, the new development -- which is located 75 miles outside of Las Vegas -- is designed to be luxurious while erasing all green guilt for today's homebuyer. The 14,000 sq ft. homes are made entirely from recycled materials taken from foreclosures demolished across the United States. The water for each home is pumped directly from Alaska through vast pipelines and flows over river rocks taken from Tibet before coming out of the tap. Each room comes equipped with Bose speakers and a soundtrack composed entirely of the latest environmentally-conscious musicians like Jewel and Barenaked Ladies.

Using sustainable technology, each home consumes 3% less energy than the standard 14,000 sq. ft. home. The homes are expected to get a LEED-Platinum rating later this year.
