Seattle Ferry Commuters Face Higher Prices

20 percent rate hike troubles ferry commuters for whom driving is not an alternative.
"Rates are going up 20 percent, and even more for the passenger-only boats that serve Bremerton and Vashon Island -- a service that had been touted as a way to further reduce dependency on cars and ease pollution and congestion." Those who moved to flee Seattle's "overheated housing market" are most affected as driving is not an efficient alternative.
