joint degrees in planning n law? pls help...

hello all..
I've just completed my bachelors in architecture from another country and i'm trying for a masters here in the US.. My area of focus is urban and environmental planning... I will shortly be taking the LEED NC exam.. I'm also looking at dual degrees and noticed that a lot of univ's offer dual degrees in planning and law.. (MUP/JD or MRP/JD). Though i have seen so many univ's offering this course, i hav'nt been able to get in touch with anyone that actually has this kind of qualification...

well, i really don't understand this.. What kind of job openings can one look to with this kind of degree? Will it be with a law firm , largely with a legal base, suing any legal aberration from what the zoning laws and building codes dictate? or will it be more of a planners job with a largely a planning base, if i choose to specialise in say, environmental law? i have read far too many blogs of architects and planners even struggling 2 pay back their loans from grad school.. I'm going to have a fortune to pay back in loans too... :( Will this qualification land me on a better pedestal at least on the pay check front?

Can someone clear me this if u r familiar/ in the related field? I'd really appreciate your inputs... Thanks in advance for any help.. :)

So, what can planners do to make best use of the ACS without succumbing to its pitfalls? We need to become more sophisticated communicators of the quality of the data we present, not just its apparent meaning.
