Precertifying Industrial Sites
9 April 2001 - 12:00pm
An innovative program in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, precertifies industrial sites to mitigate environmental concerns.
"This city's business recruitment arm is preparing to launch a new program aimed at paving the way for firms to relocate or expand here. Winston-Salem Business Inc. in the next few months expects to have a plan in place for its new site pre-certification program. The group will identify properties that might be good for wooing new businesses, and then do everything from a preliminary environmental analysis to getting the site under contract so it can be handed over almost immediately."
