Florida Growth Management Law Changes

A bill tackling crowded schools, urban sprawl and similar problems cleared a key Florida Senate committee, but not without complaints by Senators and lobbyists that more time is needed to study the wide-ranging overhaul of the State.
Following receipt of a report by the Governor's Commission on Growth Management, a Florida Senate committee acted on legislation with the potential for major changes to the methods used to guide development. "This is no way to run an airline," said State Senator Steve Geller, Democrat from Hallandale. "We don't know what's in this bill and a lot of what's in here, we don't like."
