APA Technology Division Elections-Nominations Due Jan. 16th

Are you interested in taking a more active role in applying technology in planning? The Technology Division of the American Planning Association announces its 2009 Elections! Positions include: Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer, with all terms running for two years.

Deadline for candidate statements: January 16, 2009

To put your name in the hat for one of the elected positions, prepare and submit a brief (not more than 300 words) position statement and a concise summary of your background and qualifications to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Be sure to include any APA or other volunteer leadership experience.

Send your statement to Milton Ospina (contact info at www.planning.org/divisions/tech/elections) by January 16, 2009. The Nominating Committee will present a slate of at least one candidate for each office. Candidates' unedited statements will be posted on the Division's website and distributed to the membership.

Eligibility Requirements

All nominees must be paid-up members of the American Planning Association as well as the Technology Division. Nominees may not hold any elected APA national position.

The American Planning Association (APA) Technology Division links you with others who share your interest in the use of technology in land use planning and community development. The division consists of members with a common interest in the uses and impact of technology in planning the future of our communities.

Our mission is to:

• Exchange information about planning applications that incorporate and are improved through the use of technology;

• Explore potential applications that may offer benefits to the profession;

• Inform and educate all members of the APA about solutions that work; and,

• Advocate for best practices in the use of technology to support planning.
