Vancouver's Olympic Architecture Falls Short

This column from The Tyee looks at the architecture for Vancouver's 2010 Olympic games and is not impressed.

"Why is Vancouver, with design talent that more than matches Beijing, shaping up to offer such an unremarkable Olympic architectural legacy?"

"Sure, Winter Games are smaller-scale, lower-profile and a lot colder than Bejing 2008. But aside from that, it's a bit of a head-shaker. The firms responsible for the 2010 venues include a few of Vancouver's top architects. Neither their names nor their imagination, though, will carry much weight in 2010."

Cry me a river, Oh no there wont be a fantasyland of bizarro architecture for this architecture critic to get a hard on for. Last I checked the Olympics was for sports not show-and-tell for a couple of black turtlenecks to brag about to their TriBeCa collegues.
