Architecture critic Larry Millett discusses a huge new housing development in St. Paul, MN.
"A huge new housing development on the Upper Landing site, approved last week by the St. Paul City Council, will be the most complete statement to date of the city's commitment to neo-traditional planning principles. These principles, rather confusingly known as the 'new urbanism,' emphasize old-fashioned kinds of city-making as opposed to, say, the mall-and-subdivision model used in manysuburbs."
