Building Density With Rowhouses

"Over the years, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, have passed strong growth management laws that have limited new development to compact urban centers and discouraged costly sprawl. These density-prodding measures—along with hot development markets in the Pacific Northwest—produced a flurry of multifamily building in both cities.
