Building Density With Rowhouses
The rowhouse, a relatively new building form in the Pacific Northwest, is still evolving as a modern solution for higher density communities.
"Over the years, Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, have passed strong growth management laws that have limited new development to compact urban centers and discouraged costly sprawl. These density-prodding measuresalong with hot development markets in the Pacific Northwestproduced a flurry of multifamily building in both cities.
