Clinton Backs Transit Bill
5 August 2008 - 1:00pm
Streetsblog reports that Hillary Clinton has followed the lead of Congress and introduced a version of their recent transit bill.
"Transit operators struggling to keep pace with demand as rising fuel costs strain their budgets received some welcome news on Friday. New York's junior senator has introduced a version of the Saving Energy Through Public Transportation Act. The bill, which would provide $1.7 billion for local transit agencies over the next two years (including $237 million for New York City), passed the House in June but lacked a Senate sponsor until now."

Followed the lead of CONGRESS?
The Senate (of which Clinton is a member) is part of Congress. I think someone meant to say "followed the lead of the House."
actually...
Actually,
The use of the term Congress is appropriate in this context. Congress while often referring to both houses together, is also simply a reference to the House of Representatives. This is very, very common in political circles. Just a word of unsolicited advice, I honestly would be more conservative in my nit-picking. I think people would prefer you to be accurate when you make a statement that is a relatively superficial correction...
...that is not actually a correction.
Cheers,
