JOB TITLE: Transit Development Manager
COMPANY INFORMATION:
Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) is a municipal corporation, which provides public transportation services in a 588 square mile area located in Benton and Franklin Counties in mild and sunny southeastern Washington State. The population of the service area is approximately 200,000. BFT is funded by voter approved local sales tax and FTA grants. Revenues are used to provide fixed route, ADA paratransit, General Public Demand Response and Vanpool transit services throughout the service area. BFT currently employs approximately 300 employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees Vanpool/Rideshare, Marketing, Customer Service, Planning, Development and Contracted service functions;
• Manages route and service changes;
• Manages company Customer Comment program;
• Represents company in Council of Governments and Tri-Mats activities and other inter-agency organizations;
• Manages company service change process;
• Manages company 6 Year Transit Development Plan and 6 Year Transportation Improvement Program and long-term planning endeavors;
• Selects and evaluates personnel and submits hiring/termination recommendations;
• Conducts public hearings;
• Manages grant application process;
• Promotes urban sustainability and livable communities; and
• Manages major contractor services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Urban Development, Public Administration, Planning or a related field and five years of increasingly responsible management level experience. A Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience and post graduate education is preferred. The successful candidate must exhibit education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range is $71,000 - $114,000. Ben Franklin Transit has an attractive retirement and benefits package.
