Turning a building around for minimum cost?

Has anyone heard of a situation where the realignment of roads has caused the rear of a suburban strip mall to become the front? The building will be torn down in the next decade, so major realignment is not an option, but I am looking for case studies or best practices (landscaping, painting, lighting).
