Cleaning Up Waterways
4 March 2001 - 7:00am
Ursinis College is offering courses to help citizens do more to restore and protect waterways.
"At a conference scheduled for this weekend at Ursinus College, private citizens who want to clean up their local streams will have a chance to meet with technical professionals who can help them protect and restore those waterways. Sprawling development in the area has caused problems with storm-water management and erosion. Both good and bad storm-water practices will be highlighted at the conference. About 170 people are expected to attend the two-day event. Participants have a choice of how-to classes, including instruction on taking legal action to protect streams, writing grants and using dam removal to restore rivers."
