Regulation of Solar Energy / Solar Thermal Systems in Zoning Codes / Land Use Bylaws

The City of Calgary is currently reviewing how it regulates both solar (PV) energy systems and solar (thermal) hot water systems. Ultimately, we would like to propose amendments to the City's Land Use Bylaw.

As part of the review, we are looking for examples of how other cities have using zoning codes or land use bylaws to regulate these technologies. Would anyone be able to suggest some cities that have done this? We are primarily interested in scaling/massing and other development regulations as opposed to solar access requirements.

Thanks!
