Urban Cool Eclipsed By Country Living

According to New York fashion, clothing styles now favor country living over gritty urban reality.

On the principle that urban planners should always be in-style, this feature from the Internation Herald will help to define the planner's wardrobe in 2001: "Urban cool and techno chic may have ruled the 1990s, but fashion is now at full gallop away from the gritty inner city to the open country. American style is celebrated in the New York shows as a fantasy land of hacking jackets, riding breeches and snowy cashmere sweaters with suede elbow patches."
