Resource Assistance for Rural Environments - Program Participant
The University of Oregon's Resource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) Program is accepting applications for 2008-2009 placements. The deadline for applications is June 1, 2008 (for an October placement).

RARE's mission is to increase the capacity of Oregon's rural communities in order to improve their economic, social, and environmental conditions. Participants assist rural Oregon in the development and implementation of projects relating to community and economic development, watershed and natural resource planning, policy coordination, and delivery of social services.
We are recruiting for 20-25 positions!
RARE Participants will gain experience in many of the following areas:

• Small Government Operations or Non-Profit Organization Operations

Benefits to Participants
• Living Allowance: The monthly stipend is $1,250
• Medical Insurance
• Educational Award: At the successful completion of one year of service, RARE participants are eligible to receive an educational award of $4,725
• Nine Graduate Credits: Each RARE Participant will be eligible for 9 graduate credits from the University of Oregon's Community and Regional Planning Program.
• In-state Tuition: If a participant is moving to Oregon after the successful completion of one year's service they may be eligible for in-state tuition.
