Land Economics -- Associate Consultant

Economic & Planning Systems (EPS) in Berkeley, California is seeking a full-time Associate Consultant. EPS is a private-sector, urban economics consulting firm that specializes in real estate development, market analysis, public/private partnerships, and the financing of government services and public infrastructure. Established in 1983, the Firm has over 60 employees and three locations – Berkeley and Sacramento, California, and Denver, Colorado.

Associate Consultants collaborate with team members to complete consulting assignments. They work with a range of analytical methods and computer models related to real estate feasibility, revitalization / redevelopment, public finance, fiscal and economic impacts, land use policy, and regional economic development. They are evaluated on their ability to plan and execute project tasks and manage their time accordingly to meet client needs and deadlines. They are able to successfully represent the Firm during client interactions and as a member of consulting teams.

Ideal Associate candidates are conversant in the principles of urban economics and demonstrate their intention to continue a career in urban economics or related field. They possess:

• Masters degree in economics, city and regional planning, public policy, public administration, business administration, or another related field (or bachelor’s degree and substantial work experience)
• Relevant work experience
• A solid understanding of the real estate development process
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills to explain the methods and results of analysis
• Project management skills
