Downtown Revitalization With Small Business

While many cities have turned to corporate America to revitalize Main Street, the city of Tustin is looking to mom-and-pop's to help rebuild its downtown.
"Some Orange County cities, like Brea and Huntington Beach, turned to multiplex theaters, neon lights, and trendy shops and restaurants to hook customers and boost their tax bases. Tustin officials and merchants prefer to return to their roots. In a community that takes pride in mom-and-pop restaurants and antique shops, planners want to turn to the flavor of the city's rich agricultural past to preserve its small-town charm. They hope to breathe life into a downtown marred by parched lots and vacant buildings."
