Light Rail Or Elevation Train?

Two proposals in Charlotte, NC are vying for $50 million a year in transit funds to link up the city.
"A coalition of residents and businesses north of uptown has proposed building an elevated rail line to link the central city, UNC Charlotte and the airport to Kannapolis, Gastonia and Monroe. The rapid-transit system envisioned by the Tryon North Development Corp. is far more extensive - and expensive - than the one planned by Charlotte-Mecklenburg. In addition to the elevated trains, the group is proposing numerous cross-town light-rail lines, commuter trains and a monorail on the UNCC campus and SouthPark."
