The Case For Light Rail In Seattle

An editorial in the Seattle Times argues that Seattle should bite the proverbial bullet and build light rail.

"Seattle's light rail may now take up to three years longer and cost up to $3.6 billion (a 35 percent increase above ordinary inflation). But a new I-5 to I-405 freeway via tunnels and a Sandpoint-to-Kirkland bridge is forecasted at more than $5 billion just for construction (1999 Trans-Lake Washington Study)."
