Friday Funny: 'Mind Your Mouth'
The voiceover artist famous for reminding passengers to 'mind the gap' on the London Underground was fired after posting a series of subway announcement spoofs on her website.
"Ever heard the melodious voice of the London Underground tell you to "mind the gap"? That was voiceover artist Emma Clarke who was fired by the Tube's parent company Transport for London after she made a series of recordings spoofing her official role and posted them on her web site.
Clarke must ride the Tube in her off hours, or she would never have gotten the idea to say, "Passengers are reminded that a smile is actually a friendship signal and not a sign of weakness" and "Here we are again, crammed into a sweaty tube carriage... Only two more days until you can binge drink yourself into a state of denial about the mediocrity of your life." Unfortunately, TfL didn't see the humor..."
