Web Developer

We are looking for a sharp web developer to work as part of a team to architect, develop, and support a growing number of interesting projects for a wide range of appreciative clients. We're also the creative and technical team behind the world's most popular urban planning community, Planetizen.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on web development experience.
• Programming experience using PHP/MySQL required.
• Strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript experience required.
• Bachelor's degree. (You don't necessarily need a CS degree, although clearly, that helps.)
• Experience building web applications and database-driven websites.
• A focus on security is a plus.
• Experience with shell scripting, Perl, Python is a plus.
• Experience with JavaScript/AJAX is a plus.
• Linux/Unix system administration experience is a plus.
• Knowledge/understanding of the Drupal framework is a plus.
• Experience with Drupal themes and/or modules is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop custom web applications using the LAMP stack.
• Implement Drupal-based websites.
• Help to architect Drupal projects.
• Meet with project team members and clients to develop an understanding of client requirements.
• Work as part of a dedicated team of project managers, developers and database pros.
• Develop and contribute new Drupal modules.
• Contribute new modules or modifications back to the Drupal project, where appropriate.
• Participate in all phases of Web application development projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Assist with server administration and server security.
• Maintain current knowledge of project management methods, web technologies and languages through trade publications, seminars, training classes, and other information sources.
• Gain expert familiarity with Urban Insight's task tracking and time management systems.
