Growth Threatens Historic Hanoi

Vietnam has the second-strongest economic growth in Asia, which translates to rapid development and the destruction of many famous architectural sites in Hanoi, the country's capital.
This video from the Globe and Mail looks at Hanoi's development and rising population, and the architectural treasures that are increasingly threatened by both.
As the city nears its 1,000th birthday in 2010, many fear the government will approve the demolition of historic sections of the city without proper oversight.
