Orange County Outlook Good For 2001

New jobs, defense spending and exports are expected to continue the county's upward economic trend.
"Defense spending, job growth and exports to Mexico should insulate Orange County from an economic slowdown that is expected to hit the United States next year, regional economists predicted Thursday." . . . "Orange County will continue to outperform the United States in 2001 - which is good news for homeowners and job seekers. Job growth in the county is forecast at a healthy 3.5 percent, with 48,000 new jobs expected. That's nearly twice the 1.8 percent increase foreseen nationwide."
