Senior Planner

The City of South Gate is a vibrant and growing community, located in the industrial heart of southeast Los Angeles County. It is a dense, built-out industrial suburb with a population over 100,000. The community is in the early stages of a major transformation to meet changing needs and visions.

The position will help supervise the City's current planning activities and assist in among others, the development and the implementation of a new general plan update, zoning ordinance update, redevelopment project area expansion, design guidelines and several specific plans.

Requirements: A BS/BA degree in Planning, Real Estate Development, or related field and three (3) years of planning experience in local government, experience with a general plan udpate and specific plan or in redevelopment is a plus.
