Cities Ranked By Transportation Cost

Study ranks U.S. cities by transportation costs to residents and attributes high cost of transportation to sprawl.
"Of the 28 cities ranked in the study, Houston topped the list as the most expensive, based on the percentage of personal income that is spent on transportation...The three least expensive cities for transportation costs were Baltimore, New Yorkand Honolulu...The study attributes the high costs in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth to sprawling development, which the authors of the study say leaves driving as the only practical form oftransportation."
