Federal officials have approved funding for one of the most complicated and expensive road projects in the nation's history.
"[T]he Big Dig will bury three miles ofInterstate 93 beneath downtown Boston. The endeavor, designed to reduce traffic congestion, is one ofthe most complicated and expensive road projects in the nation's history."
