Bulldozers tear across North Jersey demolishing historic homes and replacing them with "Bigfoot" houses and "McMansions."
"Some of the leafy old neighborhoods of pre- and postwar homes that were once the signature of North Jersey are slowly transforming, as tree covers thin out and larger homes made from synthetic materials replace old ones. Detractors call the new look atrocious and bizarre -- a cannibalism of a house, a mutilation of the landscape. Others see much of the new architecture as masterful."
