Last part of three-part series on the "rebirth" of the region.

"As Appalachia enters the 21st century, much of it wears the standardconsumer look of middle America -- good roads, chain retail stores and restaurants, houses stamped with the seal of suburbia, consolidated schools." Town that once depend on coal are now building businesses around tourism, aerospace, wood products, automobile parts, and processed foods.
