Wisconsin County Towns Adopt Anti-sprawl Rules

Towns in Wisconsin's Waukesha County adopt voluntary anti-sprawl standards.
"Waukesha County towns have moved quickly to adopt voluntary anti-sprawl standards that have drawn barely a yawn from the county's cities and villages, a six-month progress report releasedThursday shows.The guidelines were aimed at eliminating sloppy land use planning, often blamed for the spread of unrestricted growth that has come to symbolize urban sprawl. Towns, which generally have most ofthe available land and are often accused of being lax in controlling development, often get most of the blame for sprawl."
