National award winning "green development" is getting attention in Salem, Oregon.

An editorial writer describes Pringle Creek Community, a sustainable development in Salem, Oregon, that recently won the inaugural 2007 Green Award for Land Development from the National Association of Homebuilders. "The list of energy-saving gizmos and design touches goes on and on. But just as important is the community's social design. With single-family homes, row houes,cottages and lofts, it is meant to appeal to a variety of ages and lifestyles."
